Create an environment variable with the IP address export ADDRESS=$(wget -qO - http://ipecho.net/plain)/32 Whitelist the Cloud Shell instance for management access to your SQL instance gcloud sql instances patch taxi --authorized-networks $ADDRESS Above export is not working as is, I have tried to get the cloud shell IP address using below command and hardcoded the IP address in the whitelisting command to continue with my lab progress curl -s checkip.dyndns.org | sed -e 's/.*Current IP Address: //' -e 's/<.*$//' gcloud sql instances patch taxi --authorized-networks 35.187.228.211/32
