This lab is a masterclass in how NOT to write technical documentation. The instructions casually throw terms like "switch to the other bash terminal" without ever explaining what a terminal tab even is. Gemini Code Assist, the supposed star of the show, generates code that doesn't even work out of the box — because why would it? The tsconfig and Jest configuration issues alone could drive a senior developer to drink. The lab assumes you're simultaneously a Cloud Shell expert, a TypeScript wizard, and a mind reader. Bonus points for the completely unexplained jump between BigQuery and Spanner, as if the two are somehow related in this fever dream of a curriculum. w. Rating: 1/5 The one star is for the tests eventually passing — no thanks to the instructions.
