if this course assumes little to no knowledge about SQL, then the person taking this lab will have no clue that task 3's second query is using "legacy SQL"

Basically this is an SQL course. The problem is that you run against the time, and you can't think about the queries in advance since there is no schema definition and no sample of the data. Another problem is the fact that the answers to the questions ( the "possibile solution" in this lab) are not hidden, so you don't have time to think about the solution at all. At least the questions that are asked are good.
