the app didn't work via the vm external IP pf the GCE instance, it only worked via the shell

This was fine, but it refused to accept the final check. I did the build trigger several times, and the final check never registered success. I got no error message to indicate what the problem was. I assumed maybe I had used a different "Hello Build Trigger" text, but even after changing it, and seeing that the build had reoccured, the check never worked. Even though the new VM was showing the correct text. Nothing seen in logs either.
