I'm glad to see that it's very easy to create a Kubernetes cluster in GCP, not to mention to modify it and keep track of those modifications. Still, I wish we could have put this cluster to work in some way to show us the benefits of horizontal scaling. For example, we could run some kind of batch job on the cluster with 3 nodes, and then compare it to one that runs with 4 nodes. Ideally, we'd have a 33% improvement, and practically, we could see variation because of other factors. It just feels... anti-climatic to start this cluster and its nodes and then do nothing with them Still, I was glad I did this lab!
