The instructions are not clear enough, the name of the VPC was not mentioned until I had to check for my progress, then I tried creating the VPC with the name my-network, and deleting the default one, but it didn't work. so I ended the lab will try again later.

This part was somehow not working, i was able to ping the internal ip, even after deletion of custom firewall rule. The 100% packet loss indicates that you cannot ping mynet-r2-vm's internal IP. This is expected because you deleted the allow-custom firewall rule!
