literally made the index.html running, both with the provided image and the one publicly set on the bucket. I can even see it running on the browser, but somehow, fails the check that is working...

I already tried this twice. I'm unable to connect to the VM doing SSH. Connection works, but every key-stroke takes minutes. The step "gcloud compute scp index.html first-vm:index.html --zone=us-east1-b" hangs up, after several minutes (more than 5 minutes) it's still pending. I'm unable to complete the last step.

Could never SSH to a VM to finish the lab. Recreated the VM 2 more times, and SSH always failed. Had to redo lab.
