A couple of things that could be improved here. 1. we should either run the backup script as root or have sudo in the script so that is can run the screen commands. Or have a custom user that owns and runs everything there. 2. Looks like the check for checking if the server is up is not working correctly. Even booted up a minecraft instance to test directly against but it couldnt connect. Wondering if something is wrong in the lab or the machine is just too slow for the workload 3. the tip on saving the bucket command if i recall my linux knowlage correctly just for the current user, not the root acount
