In Task 3: Install and Run the application you doing the following command: " sudo screen -S mcs java <...> " (screen command with sudo) A bit later in Task 5: Schedule regular backups, you create a backup.sh script: " #!/bin/bash screen -r mcs -X stuff '/save-all\n/save-off\n' /usr/bin/gsutil cp -R ${BASH_SOURCE%/*}/world gs://${YOUR_BUCKET_NAME}-minecraft-backup/$(date "+%Y%m%d-%H%M%S")-world screen -r mcs -X stuff '/save-on\n' " (screen command without using sudo) And after making the script executable in section: "Test the backup script and schedule a cron job " you request to execute the backup.sh. As the screen was started with sudo and the script not, the script didnt found the screen during execution. Everything else is a double thumbsup!
