Fun lab, but could use a few fixes: 1) when testing the backup, the command should be: sudo /home/minecraft/backup.sh and not: . /home/minecraft/backup.sh privilege escalation is required to send commands to the screen session running in the background. 2) The startup script creates a new crontab file with the contents of the original plus the entry for the backup. In the way it's written the new crontab file generated will append an additional copy of the backup entry each time the server is restarted. If you're going to create a new crontab file every time you can skip the "crontab -l" command run before the "echo 0 */4 ...". This will wipe out whatever other entries might be in there for other purposes. That might be unlikely for a single-purpose server, but I'd still avoid it!
