Before I got to step 5 I noticed that two additional vm's were being added to the instance group. After several minutes I saw that there was only one vm: the original mywebserver-group-1 had been replaced by mywebserver-group-d3j8. The auto-scaling happened before I had a chance to stress test the autoscaler.
