couldnt get the check progress OK after creating the dataset in us-central1 instead of us and then having to delete and recreate it in us multi-region

I made a mistake in creating the table, and had to delete the dataset, and recreate it, and spinning in circles, the UI shows my dataset, and the command like says it doesn't exist, so if I try creating a table from the UI, it gets me to the point where I can create the table but because the underlying dataset isn't there, it fails. Then even if I refresh the UI, it seems like it's not working properly as it's showing the dataset that is technically not existing. Next time I did it, it worked, because I didn't make the same mistake I made the first time.
