Had trouble creating the persistant disk for some reason the first attempt, while it said it attached the disk, didn't resolve the formatting command. Restarting the lab solved the issue.

Please consider adding the IAP-secured Tunnel User IAM role (iap.tunnelInstances.accessViaIAP) to start using Cloud IAP for TCP forwarding for better performance.
