Documentation needs updating; in the cloud shell, setting the CLOUDSDK_CORE_PROJECT or using 'gcloud config set project _project_ud' needs to be performed prior to running gcloud commands.

This easy and simple guide gave me a wonderful introductory overview on how to use kubernetes and GKE. Although when trying to find the Container Registry API under the APIs & Services tap, I was only able to find Google Container Registry API.
