I have a hard time following Task 5 step 6 "Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Compute Engine default service account from Service account dropdown." the Service Account Dropdown doesn't appear the first time. But after trying to follow again, the dropdown already appear

stackdriver logging seems to be lagged significantly -- after stopping the "dd ... | gzip " command I waited to see the load drop and it didn't show up in stackdriver after several minutes. Restarted and waited -- etc -- anyway seems about 5 minutes behind. Very poor impression of this product.
