Under Instance Group>monitoring, there wasn't the icons/stats below the CPU graph referenced in the lab. Also, there was a warning on the right hand side: To allow this instance group to receive traffic from the load balancer echo-lb-service-urlmap, map the port name echo to a port number.

the gsutils cp command fails - one needs to update the image and then the gsutils cp command works.

With how buggy the environment is, I can't tell if there is a network connection or error in these labs. Checks along the way even in independent study would be helpful. I know the environments are free for us to learn in during the course, but it doesn't help build customer confidence when you are constantly getting logged out and the buttons are named different, etc.
