I didn't like the hacking around the JSON -> YAML using external website; the recommended cut and paste introduced unicode errors into my config script.

Intense and you have an error which took me a while to spot. In one of your examples you put a - in the wrong place but in the right place in a different example. Maybe you did that on purpose?
