JSON file from the documention is not up to date. With the new json file from the doc, it misses a few sed commands (replacing enum and number in the json schema). Also the dash explanation is a little misleading, in the JSON to Yaml conversion tool, a Json array should be (and is from what I've seen) transformed directly with dashes in the yaml, no need to add them manually. The overall explanation is really targeted at people that have never dealt with Yaml or even Json and you could have two different sections: one for complete beginners and one for people used to Yaml that just want to know the specificities of the Deployment Manager config files. But I very much liked the overall idea of using the JSON doc to fill out our YAML config
