Lab could use updating. The following command uses a deprecated flag (--private-cluster) : gcloud beta container clusters create private-cluster \ --private-cluster \ --master-ipv4-cidr 172.16.0.16/28 \ --enable-ip-alias \ --create-subnetwork "" In addition I don't think this feature is still in beta? If not, the GA command should be used not "gcloud beta ... "
