this is not updated and have to fix so many bugs in the cloud shell variables, also had to add the region flag in the .sh script to be able to deploy the cloud functions

Disappointing, the instructions on the metrics and tracing are no longer valid or not applicable - the "apply" to a specific resource when you create a widget is not possible (not even sure what that means). The trace has a new view (the requests are not visible in a graph - assuming this is what it's talked about in the lab) and you have to click a span to view the request length. It's quite disappointing and not practical. The whole setup within the VM is just cumbersome and blank copy&paste routine without the need to understand why the errors happen. Not much of a learning effect
